Jacksonville, FLA – Graham Media’s WJXT, based out of Jacksonville, Florida wanted to know who the best candidate was to sing the American national anthem before the 4th of July fireworks display in the city. To help them figure out who of their final four candidates would do the performance the most justice WJXT turned to their viewers and Megaphone TV’s live polling to help.
In a broadcast competition, local Jacksonville residents Godiva Simonic, Vincent Small, Zoe Bell, and Lauren Pesquera all sang their hearts out in live performances. After their performances, the hosts sent viewers to their dedicated voting website where Megaphone took real time stock of which singer was the audience’s choice to sing the Star-Spangled Banner before the Independence Day fireworks display. Viewers were given several minutes to enter their votes as the hosts exchanged their own banter and thoughts on the vocal performances as the real time results were shown on screen. Once the dust settled and the audience in the studio and at home were given their chance to make their voices heard, we learned that contestant Lauren Pesquera would make her voice heard ahead of the July 4th show.
