At Megaphone TV, we love highlighting our broadcast clients and their success stories. Recently, we caught up with Hilary Postlethwaite, Digital Sales Manager at Denver7 and Local3, to learn how they’re using Megaphone TV to build stronger community ties and drive real results for advertisers.

Tell us about your stations and the communities you serve.

Hilary Postlethwaite: We’re a duopoly in Denver made up of Denver7, an ABC affiliate, and Local3, an independent station. We’re known for local news, weather, and community-focused programming.

We also recently launched a “Your Voice” segment that brings news right into neighborhoods, making sure we cover what matters most to people where they live.

Before Megaphone TV, what challenges were you facing?

HP: We’ve always aimed to connect our clients to Denver’s community in meaningful ways, but it was tough to find creative solutions that truly drove brand exposure and met goals like awareness or contest entries.

Megaphone changed that. It amplified what we were doing and helped link our clients more effectively to the community while delivering tangible results.

What kinds of advertisers are most interested in interactive sponsorships?

HP: It’s a real mix—auto dealers, attorneys, but right now especially home services. We’ve got two main campaigns with Megaphone: our “Question of the Day” segments and new 30-second interactive ads.

Those have been very effective for home services, but we’ve also run awareness campaigns with government agencies and are ready to grow into other sectors.

How has Megaphone TV helped bring these advertisers on board?

The sponsored “Question of the Day” segment on Denver7/KMHG mentioned below.

HP: It lets us reach broad and targeted audiences in a much more engaging way. Because of that, we’ve opened up new partnerships and revenue streams. For example, home services sponsors who tried “Question of the Day” saw excellent brand awareness and website traffic and ended up renewing.

The 30-second interactive ads are also outperforming typical QR campaigns by a lot.

Megaphone TV’s creative tools let us get playful with trivia and polls, and we can extend campaigns across TV, streaming, and digital.

How are advertisers reacting?

HP: They love it. You can see their eyes light up when they realize these interactive ads keep viewers engaged beyond a quick QR scan. It’s not just sending people to a site—there’s a popup ad that keeps them in the experience longer, and clients get genuinely excited about that.

Clients who use Megaphone TV renew often because they see great results.

How has this changed your sales strategy overall?

HP: It’s pushed us to be more creative and rethink how ads work across screens.

It’s sparked new brainstorming around ideas that drive our clients’ bottom lines.

With Megaphone, we’re not just building brand awareness. We’re moving audiences into the consideration phase and beyond. Honestly, we’re just scratching the surface. We’re excited to use even more of Megaphone’s tools to create innovative campaigns that drive real business for local clients.

Have clients noticed the impact?

Even government affiliated organizations are jumping into interactive sponsorships with Denver7.

HP: Absolutely. They’re seeing more engagement on their sites and more leads tied to these campaigns. We see the correlation on our end, and they see it on theirs.

How has Megaphone TV impacted revenue?

HP: It’s opened doors to opportunities we wouldn’t have had otherwise. We already have an Emmy-winning production team, but Megaphone takes what we can offer and makes it even stronger.

It helps us build campaigns that are more compelling and lets us bid on different kinds of business.

What would you tell another broadcaster considering Megaphone TV?

HP: Megaphone has helped us tap into new revenue streams and given our sales team more freedom to think creatively. It’s a fantastic addition to any cross-screen campaign strategy.
